Course Description: This course is designed to deepen healthcare professionals' understanding of Jewish identity's diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic dimensions, recognizing Jews as a marginalized minority group. It aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to identify and combat antisemitism within healthcare settings, fostering an inclusive environment that respects the unique backgrounds and needs of Jewish professionals and patients.

Anti-Semitism AKA Jew Hatred is at an all time high.
The Antidefamation league (ADL) reported in January 2023 that they found 20 percent of adults or 52 million Americans harbor antisemetic beliefs. They also found through other surveys that a rise in workplace harassment exists against Jewish employees.
According to the FBI director, Jews make up 2.4% of the US population but are targets of 60% of hate crimes. This is far higher than ANY other minority group in the US. Let that sink in...
And this was reported PRIOR to October 7, 2023. Since this date, anti-semitism has risen 400% in the United States alone. This is also occuring globally.
Statistically speaking, there are 68 people with antisemetic beliefs per each Jewish person, globally.
16.1 million people in the world are Jewish AND 1.09 Billion people harbor antisemetic attitudes.
0.2% of the world is Jewish AND 13.6% of the world has antisemetic beliefs.
It is critical that we start educating on this in a BIG WAY. Through education comes change. As such, the following are the learning outcomes for this course.
After completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Define and discuss the complex facets of Jewish identity and how these intersect with other minority statuses.
Utilize resources and tools to educate healthcare colleagues about Jewish cultural competence and antisemitism prevention.
Identify subtle and overt antisemitic biases and stereotypes that may influence patient care and collegial interactions.
TIME ORDERED AGENDA & LEARNING OBJECTIVES
7:00-7:15 pm (15 minutes): Welcome and Introduction to Judaism.
Objective: To introduce the course, outline its significance, and provide a brief overview of Judaism as a People, religion and culture.
7:15-7:30pm (15 minutes): Core Beliefs and Practices of Judaism
Objective: To discuss the key religious beliefs, sacred texts, and practices that are central to Judaism.
7:30-7:45pm (15 minutes): Jewish Identity: Ethnic, Cultural, and Religious Aspects
Objective: To explore the multifaceted nature of Jewish identity, including how religion, culture, and ethnicity interplay within Jewish communities.
7:45-8:00 (15 minutes): Jews as a Marginalized Minority Group
Objective: To provide historical context on the Jewish experience as a minority group, emphasizing the social and cultural dynamics that have contributed to this status.
NOTE: A Q&A will take place immediately following the LIVE training but will not be counted toward CEUs and thus is not mandatory to attend.

How do I obtain continuing education credit?
Upon completion of the live or recorded webinar, you will receive a survey via Kajabi and/or email. You must complete the survey in order to receive your ASHA CEUs and/or a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion will be available for immediate download following submission of the survey form. This must be completed within 7 days of completion of webinar.
