Restorative Fascial Work: Exploring Connections to Oral Function, Feeding, and Airway

CONTINUING EDUCATION REGISTRATION PAGE

Recording available: November 6, 2026 to November 6,  2028

(60-minute recording, 0.10 ASHA CEUs)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Oral function and feeding concerns don't always start in the mouth. This 60-minute prerecorded training introduces Restorative Fascial Work through a whole-body lens and looks at how fascia, posture, breathing, and movement may relate to oral function, feeding, and airway.

You'll start with what fascia is, its properties, and how it connects to the nervous system. From there, you'll look at whole-body tension and compensation patterns, including the deep front line and connections beyond it, and at how the breath, jaw, and pelvis relate to posture, oral function, feeding, and airway.

The second half is clinical. Alyssa walks through her approach to examination, fascial unwinding, what she means by release, and reassessment. She then works through a clinical case, including changes observed during care such as changes in tongue mobility and feeding performance. Throughout, she separates what was observed in the clinic from proposed mechanisms and from what current research supports, and she covers which findings call for further assessment and how fascial work fits within a collaborative, multidisciplinary plan of care.

This training is designed to broaden your clinical observations and referral decisions. It does not train participants to perform hands-on fascial techniques.

Because this training is prerecorded, you can pause, rewind, and revisit any section at your own pace.

PRESENTER: Dr. Alyssa Glover-Welch, PT, DPT

Dr. Alyssa Glover-Welch, PT, DPT, is a wife, mom to four boys, physical therapist, educator, and business owner whose work centers on Restorative Fascial Therapy. She is the founder of Southeast Fascial Therapy and the creator of Restorative Fascial Therapy. Through her clinical practice and hands-on trainings, she helps clients and fellow clinicians look at the body as a whole and consider connections beyond the area where symptoms appear. Her experience working with clients with feeding and oral function concerns has shaped her interest in sharing this perspective with other professionals. She brings real clinical stories, a whole-body approach, and a desire for more collaborative care to her teaching. Outside of her work, Alyssa enjoys traveling with her husband and boys and building a life that makes room for both her family and the work she loves.

Financial Disclosure: Dr. Alyssa Glover-Welch receives an honorarium from Elevation Movement, LLC for developing and presenting this training for The Integrated Therapist™. She is the founder and owner of Southeast Fascial Therapy and the creator of Restorative Fascial Therapy, and receives compensation for clinical services and trainings provided through these businesses.
