Nourishing Function: Nutrition Through a Myofunctional Lens
CONTINUING EDUCATION REGISTRATION PAGE
Recording available: October 15, 2026 to October 15, 2028
(60-minute recording, 0.10 ASHA CEUs)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
What a patient eats and drinks is tied to how they chew, swallow, breathe, and sleep. This 60-minute prerecorded training looks at nutrition through a myofunctional lens and gives you a clear way to act on what you see without stepping outside your scope.
You'll start with the relationship between nutrition, oral function, and myofunctional health. From there, you'll look at key nutritional factors and the oral and functional signs that can point to a nutrition concern, like tongue and tissue changes, dry mouth, fatigue with meals, texture avoidance, and mouth breathing.
The second half is about what to do next. You'll learn to recognize when signs cluster into a pattern that calls for more support, and you'll walk through interdisciplinary strategies for bringing in the right providers, including registered dietitians, pediatricians, dental providers, and ENT or sleep providers. Ashley frames every finding as a clue, not a conclusion, so you can notice, ask, document, and refer with confidence.
Because this training is prerecorded, you can pause, rewind, and revisit any section at your own pace.
