COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In this presentation, we will examine the responsibilities one may hold as both a supervisor and a working clinician, discuss the need for time management, and determine how to support a student clinician throughout the time they are with the clinical supervisor.
 

PRESENTERS: Alyssa Devillier, M.S., L-SLP, CCC/SLP, CLC

Alyssa Deville earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Alyssa holds her state licensure through the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (LBESPA) and the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained therapist, a Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach trained therapist, and is Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty (TOTS) Trained by Autumn Henning. Alyssa has worked in multiple pediatric, long-term care, and rehab settings over the course of her career. She has a special interest in feeding, lactation support, and Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders but also has experience in language, swallowing, cognitive-linguistic, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) therapy. Outside of the office, you can catch her reading, chasing after her two daughters, or experimenting with different recipes in the kitchen!

TIME ORDERED AGENDA & LEARNING OBJECTIVES

0-10 minutes: Introduction/Course Objectives

10-15 minutes:  Review of ASHA supervision standards

15-30 minutes: Discuss responsibilities associated with clinical supervisor/working clinician 

30-40 minutes:  Time management 

40-50 minutes: Identify needs of student clinician

50-60 minutes: Closing Remarks

After completion of course participants will be able to: 

  1. Analyze the responsibilities one holds as a clinical supervisor and clinician
  2. Discuss the need for time management to complete tasks related to supervision.
  3. Identify and recognize the needs of the student clinician to best help them succeed.

How can I obtain CEUs for watching the recording?

How do I obtain continuing education credit?

Upon completion of the recorded webinar, a survey is sent electronically via Kajabi and email. You must complete the survey to receive a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion will be sent via email following completion of the course survey.
