COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

Learning how our movement patterns, respiratory mechanics, tongue function and occlusion affect each other. Understanding how these factors contribute and can help resolve impairments and symptoms around airway, sleep disorders, TMD, scoliosis, and upper cervical instability.
 
 

PRESENTER: Brian Coleman, PT, DPT, PRC, CSCS

Brian has over 600 hours of postdoctoral education including over 25 Postural Restoration (PRI) courses. He was certified in PRI in 2019. He regularly works with a dentist, optometrist and myofunctional therapists to provide collaborative care for complex patients. He has over 16,000 patient care hours working with over 8,000 unique individuals. He has had the opportunity to work with people of all ages from various backgrounds and abilities including professional basketball, baseball, and football players, Olympians, and dancers. He is a certified clinical instructor and regularly lectures at Pacific University as part of the special lecture series for third year doctoral students of physical therapy.

TIME ORDERED AGENDA & LEARNING OBJECTIVES

7:00-7:30 pm (30 minutes): Diaphragms of the pelvis, thorax and cranium

7:30-8:00 pm (30 minutes): The need for rest and movement, proper force transfer

8:00-8:30 pm (30 minutes): Changing position and function to optimize patient outcomes

8:30- 9:00 pm (30 minutes): Q&A 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES 

After completion of course participants will be able to: 

  • Describe polyarticular muscular chains influence on the trunk, spine, extremity position, function and the impact on airway

  •  Analyze functional postural relationships to patient impairments
  • Discuss treatment plans specific to patient needs

This course is offered for 0.20 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate Level, Professional Area). 

To receive ASHA CEUs this registration page must be submitted prior to the webinar. To watch a recording, log into your Kajabi portal, go to "The Myo Membership" > "October 2024" and the recording will be found under the training tab.

IMPORTANT: For continuing education credit the webinar must be completed in its entirety, either by attending live or watching the recording. 

What happens if I cannot attend the live webinar? 

The recording will be uploaded to The Myo Membership portal following the live webinar for all current members inside The Myo Membership.

How do I obtain continuing education credit?

Upon completion of the live or recorded webinar, a survey is sent electronically via Kajabi and email. You must complete the survey by clicking submit in order to receive your ASHA CEUs and a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion will be available for immediate download following submission of your ASHA CEU survey form. This must be completed within 7 days of completion of webinar.

Who is this for? 

This registration page is for SLPs who want to learn more about airway, myofunctional therapy, tethered oral tissues, dental appliances/orthodontics and related topics.

What happens after I sign up?

You are already signed up for The Myo Membership® and have paid in full for this month (which includes this training). If attending live, register at the provided zoom event link that will be sent out prior to the webinar event. If watching the recording you do not need to register via zoom. If you want ASHA CEUs you MUST COMPLETE this registration page (scroll to bottom and fill out the entire form).

Refund policy: Per the refund policy when you joined The Myo Membership, you can cancel your future monthly membership at any time prior to the 48-hour renewal window. You will not be refunded for any training or materials already provided. If you are unable to join live, you may watch the recording that will be placed in The Myo Membership portal.

If this webinar needs to be rescheduled you will be notified as soon as possible with the new webinar date (no refunds are provided if a webinar date has to be moved by a presenter; a replacement webinar will be provided in the event that this months presenter is unable to present as scheduled).
