COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Explore and discuss a myofunctional case study. Together we will discuss different treatment strategies as well as different signs and symptoms of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD's).
PRESENTERS: Kaitlyn Shrum, MA, CCC-SLP, QOM
Kaitlyn Shrum, MA, CCC-SLP, QOM is a speech-language pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, certified Buteyko Breathing Educator, and Qualified Orofacial Myologist through NeoHealth Services. She has experience working in hospitals, home health, and outpatient clinics. Kaitlyn has worked with typically developing individuals, as well as those with a variety of developmental differences. She has completed specialty continuing education including Beckman Oral Motor, PECS, Kaufman Evaluation and Treatment of Children with Apraxia of Speech, and Solving Complex Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Issues.
Kaitlyn founded Southern Speech & Myo in Jacksonville Beach, Florida to focus on individualized, holistic treatment. She specializes in orofacial function and development throughout the lifespan. When not at the clinic, you can find Kaitlyn at the beach, travelling, or playing music with friends

- Describe and Improve diagnostic skills for screening and assessing OMDs
- Identify symptoms of OMDs
- Describe and implement different treatment strategies for OMD's
- Discuss how management and treatment is best tailored to the individual
- Identify and discuss the importance of collaboration with other professionals and when to collaborate as a team
This course is offered for 0.10 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate Level, Professional Area).
How do I receive ASHA CEUs for attending LIVE?
To receive live ASHA CEUs this registration page must be submitted prior to the live webinar. The webinar must be completed in its entirety, by attending live, when the webinar takes place on October 25, 2022 at 7:00pm EST and submitting for CEUs by November 25, 2022.
To obtain CEUs for the recording, log into your Kajabi portal, go to "The Myo Membership" > "October 2022" and the recording will be found under the study club tab.
What happens if I cannot attend the live webinar and/or how can I obtain CEUs for watching the recording?
The recording will be uploaded to your Myo Membership portal following the live webinar. For the duration of your paid membership, you will have ongoing access to watch the recording and submit for ASHA CEUs following completion of this recorded webinar.
How do I obtain continuing education credit?
Upon completion of the live or recorded webinar, a survey is sent electronically via Kajabi and email. You must complete the survey to receive a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion will be sent via email following completion of the course survey. This must be completed by October 25th, 2022.
Who is this for?
This registration page is for SLPs who want to further their orofacial myofunctional, airway and tethered oral tissue knowledge by studying real cases, so that they understand when to refer out or how to adapt & individualize a patients treatment plan.
What happens after I sign up?
You are already signed up for the myo membership and have paid in full for this webinar. If attending live, register at the provided zoom event link that will be sent out prior to the webinar event. If watching the recording you do not need to register via zoom. If you want ASHA CEUs you MUST COMPLETE this registration page (scroll to bottom and fill out the entire form). Please note: while there is a deadline to submit for live CEUs, you have access to recorded CEUs for as long as you remain a member of the myo membership.
Refund policy: Per the refund policy when you joined the Myo Membership, you can cancel your future monthly membership at any time before 48 hours before your renewal date but refunds are not provided for months already paid due to the plethora of trainings and materials immediately accessible when you join. If you are unable to join live, you may watch the recording that will be placed in your Myo Membership portal.
If this webinar needs to be rescheduled you will be notified as soon as possible with the new webinar date (no refunds are provided if a webinar date has to be moved by a presenter or if a different but equally qualified presenter needs to host the webinar; a replacement webinar will be provided in the event that this months presenter is unable to present as scheduled).
