COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

The purpose of the course is for understanding breathing through a biomechanical, physiological and neurological lens. Learners will recognize the downstream impacts, common causes and telltale signs of dysfunctional breathing. An assessment and treatment framework to restore optimal breathing will be discussed. 
 
 

PRESENTER: Campbell Will- Physiotherapist, Breath work Educator 

Campbell Will is an integrative physiotherapist with a primary focus on the role of the breath on human health and performance. His experience spans ICUs, neurosurgical wards, elite athletes and private practice. Across this spread of clinical settings he noticed a widely unaddressed commonality; breathing. When done correctly, it elevates and enhances performance. When done poorly, it drives dysfunction. Campbell utilises his diverse background and experience to help individuals shift from disease and dysfunction to health, happiness and freedom. His holistic, multidisciplinary approach focuses on restoring balance to body, mind, emotions and energy. Campbell sees the breath as a tool that's accessible to all and provides the foundation of optimal health and well-being.

TIME ORDERED AGENDA & LEARNING OBJECTIVES

7:00-7:30 pm (30 minutes): Functional vs. Dysfunctional breathing (assessment tools)

7:30-8:00 pm (30 minutes): Common causes of dysfunctional breathing

8:00-8:30 pm (30 minutes): Impact of dysfunctional breathing on physiology and the nervous system

8:30- 9:00 pm (30 minutes): Q&A 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES 

After completion of course participants will be able to: 

  • Describe dysfunctional breathing patterns

  •  Explain the biomechanics of breathing
  • Explain the physiology of breathing
  • Define the role of breathing on the nervous system

This course is offered for 0.20 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate Level, Professional Area). 

To receive ASHA CEUs this registration page must be submitted prior to the webinar. To watch a recording, log into your Kajabi portal, go to "The Myo Membership" > "November 2024" and the recording will be found under the training tab.

IMPORTANT: For continuing education credit the webinar must be completed in its entirety, either by attending live or watching the recording. 

What happens if I cannot attend the live webinar? 

The recording will be uploaded to The Myo Membership portal following the live webinar for all current members inside The Myo Membership.

How do I obtain continuing education credit?

Upon completion of the live or recorded webinar, a survey is sent electronically via Kajabi and email. You must complete the survey by clicking submit in order to receive your ASHA CEUs and a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion will be available for immediate download following submission of your ASHA CEU survey form. This must be completed within 7 days of completion of webinar.

Who is this for? 

This registration page is for SLPs who want to learn more about airway, myofunctional therapy, tethered oral tissues, dental appliances/orthodontics and related topics.

What happens after I sign up?

You are already signed up for The Myo Membership® and have paid in full for this month (which includes this training). If attending live, register at the provided zoom event link that will be sent out prior to the webinar event. If watching the recording you do not need to register via zoom. If you want ASHA CEUs you MUST COMPLETE this registration page (scroll to bottom and fill out the entire form).

Refund policy: Per the refund policy when you joined The Myo Membership, you can cancel your future monthly membership at any time prior to the 48-hour renewal window. You will not be refunded for any training or materials already provided. If you are unable to join live, you may watch the recording that will be placed in The Myo Membership portal.

If this webinar needs to be rescheduled you will be notified as soon as possible with the new webinar date (no refunds are provided if a webinar date has to be moved by a presenter; a replacement webinar will be provided in the event that this months presenter is unable to present as scheduled).
