COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course material will focus on the new concepts in the medical/dental interdisciplinary approach to early diagnosis and treatment of pediatric SRBD.
PRESENTER: Dr. Joseph Yousefian, DMD, MS, MA
Dr. Yousefian graduated from Washington University with post-graduate training in orthodontics with a dual Master of Science Degree in Biology and Physical Anthropology at The Ohio State University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and Orthodontics and has a private practice in Bellevue, Washington. He has collaborated with several research projects, including NIH-funded clinical trials in the airway, open bite, and TMJ disorders. He is a lecturer nationally-internationally and presented these findings, totaling over 120 presentations. He has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Ohio State University and the University of Washington in graduate pedodontics and orthodontics. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a manuscript and book reviewer for several publishing companies, including The Permanente Journal and CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group. He has served in Children Airway Screening Taskforce in collaboration with the American Dental Association, American Orthodontic Association, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and American Academy of Pediatrics. He has contributed to over thirty publications in peer-reviewed journals and twelve textbooks.

TIME ORDERED AGENDA & LEARNING OBJECTIVES
7:00-7:15 pm (15 minutes): Review airway anatomy and respiratory physiology related explicitly to upper airway disorders
7:15-7:30 pm (15 minutes): Discuss etiology, pathogenesis, and comorbidities of SRBD and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children
7:30-8:00 pm (30 minutes): Determine how and when to screen, evaluate, examine, treat or refer pediatric patients suffering from SRBD-OSA
8:00-8:30 pm (30 minutes): Discuss interdisciplinary management options for pediatric patients with SRBD and OSA
8:30-9:00 pm (30 minutes): Provide an overview of treatment modalities, including orthodontics, myofunctional therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and otolaryngology in treating pediatric SRBD-OSA
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of course participants will be able to:

This course is offered for 0.20 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate Level, Professional Area).

What happens if I cannot attend the live webinar?
The recording will be uploaded to The Myo Membership portal following the live webinar for all current members inside The Myo Membership.
How do I obtain continuing education credit?
Upon completion of the live or recorded webinar, a survey is sent electronically via Kajabi and email. You must complete the survey by clicking submit in order to receive your ASHA CEUs and a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion will be available for immediate download following submission of your ASHA CEU survey form. This must be completed within 7 days of completion of webinar.

What happens after I sign up?

If attending live, register at the provided zoom event link that will be sent out prior to the webinar event. If watching the recording you do not need to register via zoom. If you want ASHA CEUs you MUST COMPLETE this registration page (scroll to bottom and fill out the entire form).

You will not be refunded for any training or materials already provided. If you are unable to join live, you may watch the recording that will be placed in The Myo Membership portal.
