Holistic Orthodontics, What does that mean?

CONTINUING EDUCATION REGISTRATION PAGE

ORIGINAL WEBINAR DATE: June 7th, 2022 7:00PM-9:00PM EST

(2 Hours 0.20 ASHA CEUs; 2.0 AOTA CEUs PENDING)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

How our patients breathe, eat, and sleep impact their oral and overall health. Holistic orthodontics approaches the treatment of one’s malocclusion differently: correcting the bad bite by addressing the underlying cause in addition to straightening the smile. The mindset has changed from viewing malocclusion as the primary problem orthodontics should fix, to crooked teeth being a symptom of an underlying cause.

PRESENTERS: Dr. Catherine Murphy, DDS, MSD

Dr. Catherine Murphy is a practicing orthodontist with a holistic approach. Prior to her orthodontic residency, she practiced general dentistry for two years and served as adjunct clinical faculty for Indiana University School of Dentistry. Currently she practices in Chicago and Northwest Indiana while serving as a part time adjunct clinic faculty member for the Indiana University Dental Hygiene program. Dr. Murphy’s mission is to support families in their desire for life enhancing treatments, rather than short term solution. Dr. Murphy views crooked team/bad bites as a symptom of an underlying cause. Her philosophy of orthodontic treatment requires a collaborative team approach. Dr. Murphy has combined her love of dentistry, holistic health and women empowerment through the co-creation of the Take3ForMe sustainable self care movement and her first book, "Dear Momma...", a picture book for moms.
